SIGHTSEEING
Any trip to Palm Springs is incomplete without a trip on this amazing  rotating  tramcar. From the base station you will be transported with breathtaking speed in a slowly revolving cabin to the top of the mountain some 8,500 feet high, and find yourself in a completely different landscape and climate.
As late as May you can walk among snowdrifts in the beautiful pine forests, and look down on the valley below. A perfect place to just take in the views and the mountain air, or explore the many hiking trails.
Located at the southern end of Palm Canyon Drive the Moorten Botanical Gardens now boasts 3,000 examples of desert cacti and other desert plants grouped by geographic regions: Arizona, Baja California, California, Colorado, the Mojave desert, the Sonora desert, South Africa, arid South America, and Texas.
For a first-time visitor the desert may appear bleak and drab. Viewed from the road, the desert only hints at its vitality. Closer examination reveals a fascinating variety of plants and animals. A rich cultural history and surreal geologic features add to the attraction of this place. Joshua Tree National Park offers visitors endless opportunities for exploration and discovery. Depending on the number of hours you have to spend, your interests and energy, there are various things to do, walking, hiking, horseriding of course and rock climbing(Joshua Tree National Park is one of the most popular rock climbing areas in the world).
Indian Canyons; Palm,Tahquitz,Murray,and Andreas. Explore these places of scenic beauty,rich in the history of the Agua Caliente Cahuilla (pronounced Kaw-we-ah) Indians. .
The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens is one of the many  Palm Springs attractions, and comes with all manner of exotic animals from various  habitats from around the world. The Zoo  includes coyotes, wolves, mountain lions, bighorn sheep, golden eagles, giraffes, and lots of African animals in the African Wa TuTu village.There are also numerous scenic trails spread across desert land with plant life from deserts of the region.
Pioneertown was built in 1946 as a movie set for western movies, including the movies of Gene Autry, The Cisco Kid, with Duncan Renaldo, Annie Oakley with Gail Davis, Judge Roy Bean with Edgar Buchanan, Range Rider with Jock O. Mahoney, and Buffalo Bill Jr. with Dick Jones.  The movie set was to provide a place for the actors to live, and have their homes used as part of a movie set.
Visit on Sundays,April through to October for re-enacted gunfights and theatre for free.
